1 lakh 80 thousand patients in 24 hours in the country; 4 thousand patients of Omicron

The daily positivity rate of the corona in the country is increasing. The third wave of corona has started in the country and 1 lakh 79 thousand 723 corona patients were found during the day on Sunday. In 24 hours, 146 people died. At present the number of active patients in the country is 7 lakh 23 thousand 619. The positivity rate is 13.29 percent.
The new variant of the Corona has a higher rate of transmission than the Omicron. Its patients are also increasing rapidly in the country. So far, 4,033 Omicron patients have been found in the country. Maharashtra has the highest number of Omicron infections, followed by Delhi and Gujarat.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday held a meeting with senior officials of the Home Ministry and the Ministry of Health to review the outbreak of Omicron across the country. During the meeting, the Prime Minister learned the details of Corona Prevention. Modi has suggested that emphasis should be laid on providing health facilities at the district level and vaccination of children should be done expeditiously. Booster dose is being given in the country from today. Also, vaccination for 15 to 18 year olds has been started from January 3.
