Election Commission team is on 2-day visit to Punjab to assess poll preparedness

Chief election commissioner Sushil Chandra accompanied by election commissioners and other senior officers of the Election Commission of India are reaching Chandigarh, Punjab today afternoon to take stock of preparedness for the state assembly elections due in early 2022.

A spokesman of Punjab Chief Electoral Office said that in the evening, the commission will hold meetings with the representatives of national- and state-level recognised parties, chief electoral officer and nodal officers of state police and central armed police forces. The commission will also meet various enforcement agencies.

Tomorrow, the commission will hold interaction with a section of voters with disabilities, young voters and with media.
