Govt sanctions 1,563 PSA oxygen generation plants for public health facilities across: Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar

More than one thousand nine hundred metric tonnes of medical oxygen production capacity per day has increased in the country during the span of 13 months. Total capacity of daily production liquid oxygen manufacturing plants was six thousand 876 metric tonnes per day in October last year which has subsequently increased to eight thousand 778 metric tonnes per day in last month.

This was stated by Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar in a written reply in the Lok Sabha yesterday.

The Minister said, the Government has sanctioned one thousand 563 Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) oxygen generation plants having capacity of around 2000 metric tonnes for the public health facilities across the country. She said, 1225 PSA plants have been installed and commissioned under the PM-CARES Fund in every district of the country.

She further said, 281 PSA Plants are being set up by PSUs of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Ministry of Power, Ministry of Coal, Ministry of Railways and 57 PSA plants have been received under Foreign grants.
