Kerala Governor observes India’s military power is not to dominate over other countries; strong in terms of defence preparedness

Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan has observed that India’s military power is not to dominate over other countries, but to be strong in terms of defence preparedness and capability to protect the unity and integrity of the country. He was inaugurating the reception centre built in memory of Lance Naik Dipuraj, at the 122 Infantry Battalion of the Territorial Army in Kozhikode yesterday.

Mr Khan pointed out that the country strongly believes in truth and non-violence, but its tradition is that people should be well versed and proficient in all kinds of knowledge, including soft power and the wisdom of persuasion. He observed that non-violence does not mean timidity and lacking capability to defend the country.

He said the country is emerging not only as an economic superpower but also as an acknowledged military power. There are forces that feel uncomfortable with the emergence of India as a powerful country. Lance Naik Dipuraj’s father, mother and wife were honoured on the occasion.
