Secretary-General of the United Nations António Guterres has called for a Climate Solidarity Pact in which developed and emerging economies unite around a common strategy & combine resources to address the climate crisis. At the opening of the Conference of the Parties COP 27 UN climate summit in Egypt on Monday, he said that the proposed Pact would see all countries taking extra efforts to reduce carbon emissions.
COP27 is the 27th annual United Nations meeting on climate. It is taking place in Sharm el-Sheikh until 18 November.
