India Open: Seven positive, players’ return season begins

Corona has suffered a major setback in the India Open badminton tournament. Seven Indian badminton players are likely to have to postpone the tournament due to corona infection. Kidambi Srikanth, India’s World Championship silver medalist, withdrew from the competition after coming back as Corona Positive. Srikanth is followed by Ashwini Ponnappa, Hrithika Rahul Thakur, Trisa Jolly, Mithun Manjunath, Simran Aman Singh and Khushi Gupta.
In this regard, the committee said, “After the RT PCR test of the players, many players have been found to be corona positive. The players in the doubles come in close contact. As a result, seven players have withdrawn from the tournament. Many of the players in the draw have not been replaced, so the rival player has got a bye and has gone to the next round.
