Govt rejects reports that PSA plants installed in Chhattisgarh through PM CARES funds not being maintained well

Union Government has termed the media reports fallacious and ill-informed wherein it was alleged that PSA plants installed in Chhattisgarh through PM CARES funds are not being maintained well. Health and Family Welfare Ministry said, these media reports are not based on facts. The Union Health Ministry clarified that 122 PSA plants are being installed from various sources in Chhattisgarh, of which 49 plants were installed and commissioned under PM CARES.

It said, after one thousand hours of running of the PSA plant, Zeolite, an absorbent material used in PSA plants to produce medical grade oxygen, needs to be replaced. As per industry norms, the shelf life of Zeolite is three to five years and has to be replaced only after this period. The funds for this have been sanctioned by the State Government of Chhattisgarh. The Health & Family Welfare Ministry said that it regularly conducts weekly reviews with States and Union Territories.
