In Kerala, the high level multi-disciplinary Central team is holding consultations with the State Government authorities for the second day today on measures to contain the spread of Monkeypox. The team was rushed to the state after it reported the country’s first Monkeypox case on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the State Government has placed all districts on high alert. The special alert has been issued to Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha and Kottayam districts as people from these districts were co-passengers of the infected person in the Thiruvananthapuram-bound flight from Sharjah that landed in the capital on Tuesday.
