Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya to hold meeting with States and UTs to assess and review preparedness for heat-related illnesses arising due to heatwave conditions in some parts of country

Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya is holding a meeting with States and Union Territories to assess and review preparedness for heat-related illnesses arising due to heatwave conditions in some parts of the country. Yesterday, the Minister chaired a high-level meeting for reviewing public health preparedness regarding heat waves.

It was decided that a five-member team of the Health Ministry, the India Meteorological Department, and the National Disaster Management Authority will visit the states which are affected by heat waves. Currently, Odisha, Chattisgarh, West Bengal, Telangana, Bihar, and Jharkhand are witnessing heat wave conditions.
