In Jammu and Kashmir, one policeman martyred and a terrorist were killed in a fierce gunfight in Pariwan area of Kulgam district.
Inspector General of Police (Kashmir Zone), Vijay Kumar, said in the encounter, that broke out late Wednesday evening, three soldiers of the army and two civilians also received injuries.
Mr. Kumar said the slain policeman was identified as senior grade constable, Rohit Chibb. He said the killed terrorist was a foreigner and was active since 2018. He belonged to proscribed Jaesh-e-Mohammad outfit (JeM). The IGP said one AK 47 rifle, one pistol and two grenades were recovered from the encounter site.
