Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur has congratulated Jyothi Yarraji on winning Gold and Silver medals in the Asian Athletics Championships. In a tweet, Mr Thakur said, we are immensely proud of Target Olympics Podium Scheme athlete Jyothi Yarraji for etching her name in history as she clinched India’s first ever Gold Medal in the women’s 100 metres hurdles at Asian Athletics Championships this week and now went on to solidify her place in short distance events with Silver Medal finish in Women’s 200 metres.
The Minister said, her brilliant victory in 100 metres hurdles became even more special as it marked her maiden Gold for the nation, adding to the joy of this incredible triumph. He said, Jyothi is a true inspiration and a shining example of dedication and perseverance.
