Aurangabad. 9, August. In Maharashtra, three persons lost their lives and many other are missing in various rain-related incidents in different parts of state. AIR correspondent reports that Indian Meteorological department has issued a red alert in Palghar district for today. Extremely heavy rains are expected at isolated places in the district. Orange alert have been issued in some parts of North Maharashtra, Western Maharashtra and Konkan region including Mumbai. Heavy to very heavy rains are expected in few parts of these areas.
Rivers and dams are overflowing in various districts and water is being released which has disturbed the lives of citizens. Very heavy rains are reported in Ratnagiri district. Chiplun and Harnai have received more than 350 millimeters of rain. one team of NDRF is deployed in chiplun. More than 475 millimeter rain is recorded in Murud in Raigad district.
