PICThe AIADMK Coordinator O. Panneerselvam yesterday appeared before the Arumugham Commission of Inquiry, which is looking into the circumstances that led to the death of former Chief Minister J.jayalalithaa. It was the first time Mr Panneerselvam appeared before the Commission, though he was summoned several times earlier. In reply to the queries, he said he was only aware of the diabetic condition of the late leader, adding he was not aware of any other health issues. He said he suggested taking her abroad for treatment, though the idea did not materialize.
Mr. Panneerselvam was the acting Chief Minister when Jayalalithaa was bed-ridden in a corporate hospital in Chennai, before her demise.
