MoRTH Nitin Gadkari inaugurates, lays foundation stone of four NHs of length 526 km in Ahmednagar

The Union Minister said that the central government has given permission to produce ethanol not only from sugarcane but also from rice, maize and other grains.

He said there is a need to run vehicles on electric and ethanol on the lines similar to Brazil.

Emphasizing ethanol fuel is better and cheaper than petrol, he added that ethanol production needs to be increased.

He added in the future, instead of producing sugar, sugar should be converted into ethanol.

NCP President Sharad Pawar was also present on the occasion.

Pawar said Gadkari has a real vision of development and the construction of large number of roads has given a boost to the economy.

Pawar added farmers will now have to depend on ethanol production and not on sugar production.
