Historic Mughal Road of J&K closed after fresh snowfall

In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the historic Mughal Road connecting twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch of Jammu with Shopian district of Kashmir valley has been closed for vehicular traffic following heavy fresh snowfall in the upper reaches near Pir Ki Gali. Quoting police sources AIR Jammu Correspondent reports the historic road was opened for all types of vehicular traffic on 5th July this year. Prior to it, the road was only allowed to be used for ferrying perishable items, mainly fruits.
