PM Modi says because of our brave soldiers, people of country can sleep peacefully and celebrate festivals; PM celebrates Diwali with soldiers in J&K’s Nowshera

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said all jawans are like his family and the country’s soldiers are the Suraksha Kawach of Maa Bharti. Mr Modi said it is because of the brave soldiers who guard the borders without sleep, the people inside the country can sleep peacefully and they can celebrate festivals with happiness. Mr Modi said, he is at Nowshera not as a Prime minister but as a member of the family of the soldiers. Addressing the soldiers at Nowshera in Jammu and Kashmir, Mr Modi said he has spent each Diwali with soldiers guarding borders. Today’s India is Atmanirbhar & Sashakt and 65% of our defence budget goes into buying defence equipment that is Made in India. And we indigenously manufacture advanced defence equipment under the Make in India campaign, the Prime Minister added.
Mr. Modi said the Young India is flourishing with Startups that are doing wonders & soon we will emerge as major Defence exports.
The Prime Minister also lauded women soldiers. He said the role of women in the area of security of the nation is touching newer heights. The women are being given permanent commission in the army now. Mr. Modi said connectivity in border areas has improved- be it from Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh, Jaisalmer to Andaman & Nicobar Islands. This has helped us enhance our deployment capability, he reiterated. Prime Minister Modi said now India is celebrating AzadiKaAmritMahotsav. We have come a long way since our independence. He stressed the fact that earlier, it used to take years together to procure defence equipment for security forces, but the country today stands prepared and ready with the vision of Aatma Nirbhar Bharat.
He said that he had spent each Diwali with soldiers guarding our borders. Today, he has brought along with himself the blessings of crores of Indians for our soldiers at Nowshera at Jammu And Kashmir. Prime minister fondly remembered the Bravehearts of surgical strikes. Giving a strong warning to terror sponsors, Prime minister said terrorists made many attempts to disrupt peace in Jammu and Kashmir but all were thwarted by our forces.
Mr Modi is in Jammu’s Nowshera to celebrate Diwali with soldiers. This is Prime Minister’s second visit to Rajouri since 2019 when he had also celebrated Diwali with soldiers. Army general M M Naravane is also in Nowshera.
Prime Minister Modi also paid floral tributes to the martyrs at Nowshera. Prime Minister offered sweets personally to soldiers on the occasion and also had lunch with the Bravehearts at the border. The visit of the Prime Minister comes as a huge morale booster for the soldiers at the LoC. Since 2014 Prime Minister has been celebrating Diwali with the Soldiers at borders.
AIR correspondent reports, when Prime minister left Delhi for Nowshera, early morning today, there were minimal security arrangements and no traffic route.
Earlier The Prime Minister has greeted the people of the country on the auspicious occasion of Diwali. Mr. Modi wished that this festival of lights brings happiness, prosperity, and good fortune in everyone’s life.
