In Tamil Nadu, counting of Votes of the two phases of rural local body election is underway. The election was held for the rural bodies in the nine newly formed districts of the State. The ruling DMK and its allies are leading in several places. Eighty thousand candidates are in the fray for 27 thousand and 3 posts . The first phase recorded 77.44 percent polling while the second phase registered 78.5 percent polling.
