IND vs NZ 1st Test: Ashwin breaks Young-Tom Latham compact, Young falls on 89

In Kanpur cricket test, New Zealand were 184 for 1 against India in their first innings on the third day at Green Park Stadium when reports last came in.

Earlier, the visitors resumed their innings at 129 for no loss this morning. Will Young was caught by K.S. Bharat when he edged an Ashwin delivery while he was on individual score of 89.

India posted 345 runs in their first innings. Debutant Shreyas Iyer top-scored for the hosts with 105 runs and he was supported well by Ravindra Jadeja who scored 50 runs. Other notable contributions came from Ravichandran Ashwin who added 38 and Skipper Ajinkya Rahane 35 runs.
For New Zealand, Tim Southee scalped five wickets while Kyle Jamieson picked three and Ajaz Patel took two wickets.
