In Odisha, government offices have started functioning with fifty percent staff strength from today. Along with this, night curfew from 9 pm to 5 am also commences from today in view of the rapid rise in covid positive cases in the state. Odisha reported as many as 2703 fresh cases on a single day yesterday.
AIR correspondent reports, There has been an exponential increase in the number of covid positive cases in the state that jumped from 428 on the second of this month to a high of 2703 yesterday. The number of active cases too have spiked from 5739 day before yesterday to 8237 as of now.
Accordingly, the state government has imposed many restrictions on public gatherings wef today to contain the virus. While the Bhubaneswar Municipal Commission has declared quite a number of areas in capital Bhubaneswar as containment zones, it has also decided to subject all passengers de-boarding at Bhubaneswar airport to mandatory RT-PCR tests.
