Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended his condolences to the victims of the Chattogram Inland Container depot fire in Bangladesh. In his letter sent to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh, Prime Minister Modi said that he was deeply shocked to hear the news of the loss of so many precious lives and injuries sustained by so many at the tragic fire incident at a container depot near Chattogram.
Prime Minister Modi said that India grieves with its brethren in Bangladesh at this difficult time.
The government and the people of India stand ready to provide all possible support to the efforts of the government of Bangladesh to provide relief to the affected families, said Prime Minister Modi.
A major fire broke out at the Inland Container Depot at Sitakunda near Chattogram on Saturday causing the death of 44 people including 9 firemen.
