Baramati: After the transfer of Police Officers, the farewell ceremony and the procession of police officers in jeeps by tying feta will not be possible in the future. The Director General of Police of the state Rashmi Shukla has issued a circular in this regard and has warned of action against the concerned if such an act takes place.

Rashmi Shukla has mentioned in the press release that various ranks of police officers/enforcers in the Maharashtra State Police force are being transferred as per the government rules and also for administrative reasons. Transfer is a routine procedure. Farewell ceremonies are organized in various police stations / branches in honor of police officers transferred from one such unit / place to another unit / place.
In such ceremonies, when the concerned police officers are wearing police uniform, tying colored ribbons on them, showering flowers on them, making them sit in the vehicle and dragging the vehicle with a rope by the concerned police station / branch officer / enforcers have been observed. Also, they are sent off in a government vehicle like a retiring officer. Such behavior is not in accordance with the standard procedure of the police force.
Such kind of felicitation programs are broadcasted on social media by the officers themselves or through their hands to gain publicity. Therefore, on the contrary, they become the object of ridicule and ridicule among the people. Local citizens always respect the good works and achievements of the officer and not such showmanship.
All the Heads of Police Units should take care to ensure that the above situations do not take place while organizing the farewell ceremony of the Police Officers transferred to the Police Stations / Branches under their jurisdiction.
Such instructions must be strictly communicated to all Police Station / Branch In-Charge Officers, all Supervisory Officers subordinate to them. All unit heads and their supervisory officers shall be responsible for taking strict action against the concerned in case of neglect / failure to comply with the above instructions. It has also been warned that if any such matter is brought to the notice of the police headquarters, the relevant unit heads will be held responsible.
