Leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge says party’s protest to continue until suspension of opposition MPs is revoked

Congress President and Leader of opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge has said the party’s protest will continue until the suspension of opposition MPs is revoked. Talking to media persons in the Parliament premises, Mr. Kharge accused the government of adopting undemocratic means to stop opposition.

He said suspension of the MPs are intentional and only motto is to pass three Criminal Procedure Bills without any debate and discussion. Congress President alleged that the government has adopted dictatorship to oust all opposition members.

Earlier the opposition party members held the protest in parliament premises over the issue of suspension of opposition MPs and breach of security of parliament.

Meanwhile the Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) meeting held today in parliament complex. The meeting was chaired by CPP Chairperson Sonia Gandhi. Mrs. Gandhi accused that the government has undermined the democracy by suspending opposition MPs from the House. The Congress leader said the opposition members are raising reasonable and legitimate demand over the incident of Lok Sabha security breach occurred on 13th of this month.
