Weekend curfew in Delhi: Metro trains to be available at frequency of 15 minutes on Yellow Line and Blue Line

In view of the curfew to be imposed in the National Capital in the coming weekend on 8th and 9th January, the Delhi Metro train services will be available at a frequency of 15 minutes on the Yellow Line and Blue Line. Yellow line connects HUDA City Centre to Samaypur Badli and Blue Line from Dwarka Sector-21 to NOIDA Electronic City and Vaishali.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) in a statement said that on all other lines, metro trains will be available at a frequency of 20 minutes during the weekend curfew. It said, for the rest of the weekdays – from Monday to Friday, Metro services will continue to remain available as usual. The DMRC has reiterated that as per the latest Guidelines, though 100 per cent sitting is allowed in metro trains but no standing passenger is permitted. Therefore, entry to the trains and stations shall continue to remain highly restrictive as only a limited number of passengers that is only 50 passengers per coach are allowed. DMRC has advised the people to travel only if absolutely essential.
