Gujarat lifts night curfew except in Ahmedabad and Vadodara

Gujarat government has lifted night curfew from all cities of the state except Ahmedabad and Vadodara from today. The night curfew in Ahmedabad and Vadodara will remain effective from 12 in the night to 6 am.

This decision was taken at a state-level core committee meeting chaired by the Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel yesterday evening. Gujarat government has also decided to start off-line teaching in all schools and colleges across the state from 21st February.

This will also end the parallel online teaching system launched due to the spread of Covid-19 infections.

Meanwhile, Gujarat has reported 870 new cases of Covid-19 infections during the last 24 hours. According to the state health department, 252 new cases were recorded in Ahmedabad, while Vadodara recorded 139 new cases.

1 lakh 82 thousand 549 doses of vaccine were administered in Gujarat yesterday. The total number of doses of vaccines administered in the state till now has crossed 10 crore 17 lakh mark.
