Anti-coronavirus chewing gum may enter civilian circulation — developer

SOCHI, June 25. Anti-coronavirus drug in the form of chewable tablets may enter civilian circulation, head of the 48th Central Scientific-Research Institute of the Ministry of Defense Sergey Borisevich said on Thursday.

“We are working on it,” Borisevich said, answering a question from TASS.

In response to the question about whether this form of medicine will be introduced into civilian circulation, he said: “Let’s look at the quality.” Borisevich added that the work is moving according to the schedule.

He also told reporters that US sanctions at this stage did not affect the work of the institute. At the same time, he did not comment on the accusations of developing biological weapons.Earlier, RBC, citing Borisevich, reported that the Russian Ministry of Defense was developing an anti-coronavirus drug in the form of chewing gum, chewing tablets, and pressed fruit paste. According to the newspaper, the institute was working on a mucosal COVID-19 vaccine.
