Delhi govt asks private hospitals to reserve 40% beds for Covid cases

Delhi government has asked private hospitals in the city to increase the number of reserved beds for COVID-19 patients to 40 percent from ten percent of their capacity.

Talking to reporters, City Health Minister Satyendar Jain informed that around two percent of beds are occupied in the government hospitals in the national capital. He said the COVID cases are rapidly increasing in Delhi. Mr. Jain added that the fifth wave of COVID-19 pandemic has hit the national capital while the third has set in the country.

The Minister added that the city is expected to report around ten thousand COVID infections today.
