Women’s World Cup: India sets target of 230 runs for Bangladesh at Seddon Park in Hamilton

In the women’s world cup, Bangladesh were 30 for 3 in 14 overs against India at Seddon Park in Hamilton, a short while ago.

Earlier India set a target of 230 runs in the stipulated overs for Bangladesh in a must-win match. India won the toss and elected to bat first. Yastika Bhatia 50, Shafali Verma 42 and Pooja Vastrarkar 30 were the top scorers for India.

India needs to win their last two matches against Bangladesh and South Africa to keep alive their hopes of making the grade. Bangladesh have already surprised one Subcontinent team in Pakistan, they would look to upset another.

In the league stage so far, India have won two matches and lost three while Bangladesh lost three out of four matches it played.

Meanwhile, in another match of the tournament today, Australia beat South Africa by 5 wickets at Basin Reserve, Wellington.
