Eminent Doctor and AIG Hospitals chairman Dr D. Nageshwar Reddy dispelled fears regarding Omicron, stating that doctors in South Africa, UK, and USA have told him that those who are infected with the new variant of concern are recovering within days. However, he has advised people to follow COVID-appropriate behaviour without fail and stay alert for another three months. Dr. Reddy was speaking after receiving J. Eashwari Bai Memorial Award 2021 at a programme held in Hyderabad last evening.
Dr. Reddy said many doctors worked like warriors when Coronavirus was spreading by June and July last year and about two thousand doctors have died while treating patients across the country. Doctors got confidence after getting medicines and felt that it could be over by February.
