NZ vs BAN: Kiwis decide to recover with interest!

Christchurch: The last match of the two-Test series between New Zealand and Bangladesh has started. Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field first at the Hegley Oval in Christchurch. New Zealand batted first and scored a mountain. Captain Tom Latham scored 252 off 373 balls. He hit 34 fours and two sixes. Apart from Latham, 30-year-old Devon Conway also hit 109 off 166 balls. He hit 12 fours and a six in his innings.
Will Young and wicketkeeper-batsman Tom Blundell hit half-centuries in the first innings for New Zealand. Young hit 54 off the first innings while Blundell hit 57 off 60 balls with eight fours. Ross Taylor, 28 off 39 balls, Henry Nichols could not even open the account. Darrell Mitchell hit 3 off 11 balls while Kyle Jamieson hit 4 off 11 balls. New Zealand declared their first innings at 521 for six. Ibadat Hussain and Shorful Islam took two wickets each for Bangladesh in the first innings.
By the end of the second day, they had beaten Bangladesh by 121 runs. Bangladesh are trailing by 395 runs. With the exception of Yasir Ali 55 (95) and Nurul Hasan 45 (62), none of the Bangladesh batsmen were able to reach double figures.
From New Zealand, Trent Boult took the most 5 wickets for 43 runs. Tim Southee (3) and Kyle Jamieson (2) took two wickets each. In the first Test, Bangladesh defeated New Zealand by 8 wickets at home. It seems that the New Zealand team came on the field with the intention of repaying the loss with interest. Winning this Test is their chance to level the series.
