Aditya L-1 is India’s first solar mission. It was successfully launched on September 2. This campaign is being implemented to study the Sun. In this, the Aditya satellite will be installed at the Lagrange point L-1, which is 15 lakh kilometers from the Earth.
At present Aditya satellite is in outer orbit of Earth. It will orbit the Earth till September 18. After this, it will leave Earth’s orbit and begin its journey towards the L-1 point. It will take about four months. L-1 is the point in space where no gravity of earth or sun is felt. So the object kept at that place remains stable. This is why this point has been selected.
