EURO Cup 2020: Germany thrash Portugal 4-2 in Munich; Spain-Poland match ends in 1-1 draw

In Euro Cup Football, Germany thrashed Portugal 4-2 in the Group F encounter as Kai Havertz and Robin Gosens score goals at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany last night. In Group F, Germany is now at the second spot with three points from two games while Portugal is at the third spot with three points from as many games.

Germany will next take on Hungary in the tournament while defending champions Portugal will lock horns against 2018 FIFA World Cup winners France.

In Group E game, the match between Spain and Poland ended in a draw. Robert Lewandowski helped Poland save the day after Spain was leading 1-0. Spanish striker Gerard Moreno had missed a penalty at a crucial moment in the match. For Poland, Lewandowski scored the equaliser in 2nd half.

The draw helped Poland to keep alive their hopes of reaching the knockouts. A defeat for Poland would have resulted in their elimination.
