Covid-19: Odisha govt comes out with fresh set of restrictions

Odisha Government has come out with a fresh set of restrictions to break the chain of transmission the resurgent covid-19. These restrictions will be effective from tomorrow till the 1st of February. AIR correspondent reports that the fresh set of anti- covid do’s and don’ts mandates government offices in the state to operate with 50% of the staff strength while allowing government programs with a maximum cap of 100 participants –that too, with prior permission of the local authorities and strict adherence to preventive protocols. While night curfew will be in place from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on all days in urban areas, passengers landing in any of the two airports in the state will be subjected to random RT PCR test and subsequent course of action.

Following the surge in covid cases including omicron infection, the state government has ordered closure of schools and colleges upto class twelfth. While social and religious gathering have been banned, political, academic, sports programs and marriage functions are allowed with a maximum of hundred participants after obtaining prior permission of the local authority.
