Union Territory Ladakh to begin Mission Amrit Sarovar works during this working season. The administration has identified the potential locations for construction or rejuvenation of 75 Amrit Sarovars in Leh and Kargil districts.
UT Ladakh Advisor Umang Narula reviewed the Mission progress and instructed the district administrations to build the water bodies with dual purpose of utility and as ice rink for winter sports during the freezing winters. He advised the officials to ensure community participation at all levels for the execution of the Mission.
‘Mission Amrit Sarovar’ is aimed at developing and rejuvenating 75 water bodies in each district of the country, launched by the Prime Minister on April 24 this year, as a part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
