Karnataka relaxes Covid-19 restrictions; shops and hotels to operate from tomorrow

June. 20. Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa announced relaxations in lockdown norms in 16 districts of the state where Covid Positivity rate is below five percent. These relaxations will be effective from tomorrow and remain so till July 5th. In the remaining 14 districts with over five percent positivity rate, the lockdown norms will continue as before.

AIR Correspondent reports, Based on the technical Advisory committee recommendations lockdown norms are relaxed in Bengaluru urban, yadgir, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Belagavi, Mandya, Koppal, Chikkaballapur, Kolar, Gadag, Raichur, Bagalkot and Tumkuru.

All business establishments will remain open till 5.00 pm in these districts. Buses and Metro rail will start operation. Parks will be open from 5.00 am to 6.00 pm, Hotels, clubs and restaurants, lodges and resorts can operate with 50 percent seating capacity without air-conditioning, Outdoor shooting of films and TV serials and outdoor sports without spectators allowed. Shopping malls, swimming pools, places of worship and public events will not be allowed.
