India’s G20 Presidency: Side event on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure held in Gandhinagar

Member Secretary, National Disaster Management Authority, NDMA Kamal Kishore has said that a constructive discussion is taking place over the identified priority areas at the 1st Disaster Risk Reduction Working Group Meeting which is being held at Gandhinagar in Gujarat under India’s G20 Presidency.

Five priority areas have been identified for the Working Group for discussion which includes an early warning for all, disaster-resilient infrastructure and stronger National financial frameworks.

Talking to AIR News, Mr Kamal Kishore said that a discussion on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure at the side event of the meeting was also held today.

AIR correspondent reports that the 1st Disaster Risk Reduction Working Group Meeting began yesterday and today is the second day of the meeting. Around 100 delegates from the G20 member countries and invitee countries are participating in the three-day event.
