In Australian Open tennis tournament, the Spanish sixth seed Rafael Nadal beat Denis Shapovalov and entered the semifinals. Nadal won the hard-fought match 6-3, 6-4, 4-6, 3-6, 6-3 in 4 hours and 8 minutes. In an upset unseeded Madison Keys has knocked out fourth seed Barbora Krejickova. The American won the contest 6-3, 6-2. She returns to the Australian Open semifinals after 2015.
However there is a bad news for Indian sports lovers ,the mixed doubles team of Sania Mirza and Rajeev Ram knocked out of the tournament, after they lost against Jaimee Fourlis and Jason Kubler 4-6, 6-7 in 1 hour and 30 minutes.
In the other Women’s Singles quarterfinals, top seed Ashleigh Barty will be locking horns with American Jessica Pegula this afternoon for a place in the last four.
Home favourite Barty defeated American Amanda Anisimova in the fourth round while 21st seed Pegula ease past fifth seed Maria Sakkari.
