President Droupadi Murmu to address convocation of Gondwana University in Maharashtra

President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Nagpur last evening, July 4 for a two-day visit to the Vidarbha region in Maharashtra. She was received at the airport on her first State visit by Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais, Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

The President will be addressing the 10th convocation of Gondwana University in Gadchiroli this morning. 6 students who have won gold medals in the various academic branches will be honoured at the hands of the President during this convocation ceremony.

In the afternoon, President Draupadi Murmu will inaugurate the Ramayana cultural center of Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan in the Koradi temple premises in Nagpur.

This centre’s first floor has an attractive display of Ramayana in pictorial form, while the heroic story of the freedom fighters from 1857 to 1947 is depicted through paintings on the second floor.

The President will interact with members of the particularly vulnerable tribal groups at Raj Bhavan tomorrow morning in Nagpur, before leaving for Mumbai.
