Mizoram: Partial lockdown in Aizawl extended till September 18

The ongoing partial lockdown in Aizawl has been extended till 18th of September to control the spread of infection of Covid-19. However, the state government has also allowed ample relaxations to boost up economic activities in the Aizawl Municipal Council (AMC) area.

As per the new order, the night curfew will still remain in force. Also, all public places of gatherings will remain closed in the AMC area. Shops, markets and commercial transport will continue to operate in a restrictive manner in the AMC area. Also, most districts are opened with usual activities barring some places where restrictions have been clamped by the administrations as per the localised situation on Covid-19.

According to the official report, the state has now 10,981 active cases of COVID-19, while 52,581 people have recovered from the infection, including 248 in the last 24 hours. The recovery rate presently stands at 83.30 per cent while the positivity rate is at 12.84 per cent.
