In Jammu and Kashmir, the 62-day- Shri Amarnath ji Yatra has formally with each batch of devotees flagged off from the Baltal and Nunwan base camps this morning.
Officials said that around 4445 Yatries have been allowed from the Baltal base camp so far while more than 2000 Yatris have begun their trek from the Pahalgam axis towards the holy cave.
The second batch comprising 4416 Yatris has also left towards the Kashmir valley from Yatri Niwas Jammu. These devotees will spend a night at their allotted base camps at Baltal or Nunwan before they trek towards the holy cave shrine tomorrow morning.
Meanwhile, elaborate arrangements for boarding, lodging and security have been put in place and the JK administration has also issued a traffic plan to ease the pressure on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway and the routes going towards the two base camps within the valley.
