Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the district administration of those districts to remain on alert where Yamuna and Betwa rivers flow.
The Chief Minister also directed officials to take all the necessary precautionary measures in view of the possible flood situation. Water level of the major rivers flowing in Bundelkhand region is continuously rising particularly Yamuna and Betwa are flowing close to danger mark.
Chief Minister held a special review meeting yesterday night and direct the officials of those districts where river Yamuna and Betwa flows to remain on alert mode.
District magistrates of Agra, Firozabad, Etawah, Auraiya, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Banda Prayagraj, Mathura, Mirzapur, and Jhansi districts are directed by the chief minister to take all necessary precautionary measures.
He said that opening of gates at Kota barrage and water release from Dholpur in Rajasthan has resulted in increased water level of Yamuna river.
Betwa is also swollen after heavy rainfall in Madhya Pradesh. Keeping in mind the situation all NDRF, SDRF, PAC, and crisis management teams should remain inactive mode and if necessary the help of civil defence volunteers should also be taken. He directed officials to keep the control room active.
