Chief of the Army Staff General Manoj Naravane yesterday called on Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai. It was a courtesy call. During the visit, General Naravane discussed issues pertaining to the State Government and welfare resettlement of veterans. The Army Chief also visited Western Naval Command and reviewed a ceremonial guard of honour and interacted with Vice Admiral R. Hari Kumar, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Western Naval Command. They discussed operational and administrative issues including Jointmanship between the two services. The General also visited the Stealth Guided Missile Frigate INS Teg, affiliated to the Sikh Light Infantry Regiment. He was briefed about the capabilities of the warship.
Taking the ‘Make in India’ initiatives forward, he also interacted with representatives of major business houses involved in the defence sector for manufacture and supply of state of the art equipment for Defence forces.
