From August 5, there have been some changes in the Passport application process. Earlier one could get date of passport interview by filling online form. There was no need to fill any documents in this process apart from filling general information in the form.
It is necessary to carry all the documents with you only at the time of interview . But now a little change has been made in this process.
For the new process of passport extraction, the applicant has to first download Digilocker, a government app. All required documents have to be uploaded on this app. Only then the applicant can apply online for the passport from the official passport website www.passportindia.gov.in.
This new process will also be convenient for the applicants. Because in this process, if the applicant who is applying for passport uploads the original documents on DigiLocker, he does not need to carry the original documents during the actual interview. Due to this process, passport extraction will now be easier and more convenient.
What is Digilocker App?
Digilocker is a Digital Wallet Digital Wallet service provided by the Indian Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. In this you can keep government documents safe in digital form.
User can use this digital locker as per his convenience. In this, many documents like driving license, birth certificate, ration card, Aadhaar card, educational mark sheet, voter card can be uploaded and kept in digital form.
In many government places or while filling government forms, your documents from any other app or photos of documents from mobile are not accepted.
But since DigiLocker is a government certified wallet, the documents in this wallet are accepted for government purposes.
For this reason, the government has started this new process for issuing passports. So upload all your important documents in DG Locker. So that it will be easy to get passport and also all the documents will be easily available when you need them in other government work.
