The higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand received fresh snowfall leading to the closure of many border roads. In Jammu and Kashmir, while higher reaches have received fresh snowfall, rains lashed the plains ending the dry spell. The famous tourist destinations of Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Kupwara and Gurez recorded light to moderate snowfall.

The upper reaches Sheshnaag, Mahagunus Top on Amarnath ji track in south Kashmir, also recorded the fresh snowfall. Meanwhile, the Srinagar- Jammu National Highway remained open for vehicular traffic despite the inclement weather whereas Mughal Road and Srinagar-Leh National Highway was closed because of the fresh snowfall at Drass and Meenamarg areas.
In Ladakh, Kargil and adjoining areas are experiencing heavy snowfall. Due to snowfall and bad weather, traffic movement on Kargil Srinagar and Kargil Zanskar has been suspended.
Upper parts of Himachal continue to receive snow. Traffic on many roads have been crippled. Lahaul-Spiti district is covered with a thin layer of snow.
In Uttarakhand, upper Himalayan village of Gunji in Pithoragarh district received heavy snowfall. Meteorological Department has predicted more rain and snowfall in next two days.
