North India continues to reel under severe cold wave conditions. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast dense fog conditions in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Uttar Pradesh. IMD has also forecast dense fog over Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, north Madhya Pradesh, Jammu division Rajasthan, Bihar, Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Tripura till Tuesday. Cold Day to Severe Cold Day conditions are very likely to continue in many parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttarkhand and Uttar Pradesh. According to the weather agency, Severe Cold wave conditions are very likely to continue in North India including Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar till Sunday.
IMD said that a gradual fall by 2 to 3 degree celcius in minimum temperatures is likely over many parts of Central and East India during next 2-3 days. Light rainfall and snowfall at isolated places are very likely today over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad.
A thick layer fog continues to engulf the National Capital. As per IMD, dense fog conditions are likely to prevail in the city till Tuesday.
