In AIBA Men’s World Boxing Championships, Debutant Akash Kumar had to settle for bronze after going down in the 54 kg category semi-final against Makhmud Sabyrkhan of Kazakhstan at Belgrade in Serbia. The 21-year-old Akash lost 0-5 to end India’s campaign in the competition. Akash has become the seventh Indian male boxer to win a medal at the world championships.
