The Pratham Pooja (the first prayer), marking the beginning of rituals of the annual Shri Amarnathji Yatra, which is commencing on 30th of this month, was held yesterday on the occasion of Jyestha Purnima at the holy cave Shrine of Shri Amarnathji in south Kashmir Himalayas. More than six lakh pilgrims are expected to pay their obeisance at the 3,880-metre high cave Shrine this year.
AIR correspondent reports, The Chief Executive Officer, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, Nitishwar Kumar performed Pratham Pooja on the auspicious occasion of Jyeshtha Purnima yesterday at the holy cave shrine of Shri Amarnathji amidst chanting of Vedic Mantras to invoke the blessings of Lord Shiva.
Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board has been organizing Pratham Pooja on the auspicious occasion of Jyeshtha Purnima every year to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva for the peaceful conduct of the Annual Yatra.
On the occasion, the Chief Executive Officer prayed for the smooth conduct of forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra and well-being of the people across the nation. He welcomed and encouraged the devotees across the country to take part in the 43-day long Shri Amarnathji Yatra which is scheduled to commence from 30th of this month and conclude on 11th of August, the day of Shravan Purnima.
The Shrine Board has made all the necessary arrangements for facilitating safe and hassle-free Yatra and the holding capacity for the Yatris has been doubled with respect to previous years. Special arrangements have been made for virtual Puja, Virtual Hawan and Online Prasad Booking for the devotees of Lord Shiva.
