Kerala is celebrating its 65th “Kerala Pirayi,” the formation day of the State, today. The State of Kerala was created on November 1, 1956, amalgamating the erstwhile provinces of Malabar, Cochin and Thiruvithancoor. This year, the celebrations will be strictly adhering to Covid protocols.
Meanwhile, on this auspicious day, schools across the State will reopen today after remaining closed for over one and half years due to the Covid pandemic. ‘Praveshanolsavam’ which is the welcoming ceremony of the students will be held today morning, adhering to strict covid guidelines. Classes from 1st to 7th, 10th, Plus One and Plus Two will begin today. Classes for all grades will be fully functional from the 15th of this month. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan urged the public to maintain strict vigil as schools reopen today.
