Kerala Government has ordered a scientific inquiry into rabies deaths in the state. An expert committee to be formed for this purpose will probe the deaths of people who suffered dog bites this year.
The scientific enquiry aims to solve the growing concerns of rabies infection and the row over the efficacy of the anti-rabies vaccine in the state.
The expert committee has to submit its report in two weeks. According to available information, 19 people died of rabies infection in Kerala this year.
The Government has been facing criticism following the death of two persons who died of rabies infection even after receiving the vaccine.
