The heavy rainfall in Gwalior-Chambal Division of Madhya Pradesh resulted in flood situation in the area. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is constantly monitoring the situation. He spoke to the Prime Minister and the Defence Minister and apprised him of the situation.

In Madhya Pradesh, about one thousand 171 villages have been affected in Shivpuri, Sheopur, Datia, Gwalior, Bhind and Rewa due to excessive rain and flood, while 200 villages are surrounded by water. The team of SDERF, NDERF evacuated about one thousand 600 people to a safe place. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi twice yesterday and inform him of the situation. Prime Minister assured all possible help from the Centre. Chief Minister Mr Chouhan also thanked the Defence Minister for extending all possible support.
