Maharashtra Government approved an assistance of 774 crore rupees to the farmers in nine flood-affected districts of the state. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray yesterday said that the state government stands firmly behind the farmers severely affected due to recent rains.
He stated that 2860 crore rupees has been sanctioned to farmers in 14 affected districts and distribution has already started yesterday. State Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Vijay Vadettiwar said that 75 percent of the required funds as per the incremental rate fixed by the State Disaster Response Fund and State Govt has been sanctioned for distribution in nine districts badly hit by the floods.
